Student Library Record

You can view and manage your library account through the Mercy College Library catalog. Your personal library record can be displayed under “My Account” where you can view items you have checked out, requested, as well as overdue notices, and fines. Books can be renewed on this same screen if there are no barriers present at the time.

Fines, Overdue and Lost books

As a courtesy when an item is one week overdue a notice for overdue material is sent via email. A patron who does not receive a notice still is liable for any fines or replacement. A total of three overdue notices are sent and after that the items are considered lost and need to be paid for according to the policy described below.

  • There are no daily overdue fines for items owned by the Mercy College Library.
  • Fines from overdue OhioLINK items will be collected. Late fees for OPAL/OhioLINK materials are 50 cents per day, per item.
  • Items are considered lost after they are 30 days overdue. You will be billed $125.00 for lost items. If you have questions or concerns about missing items talk with the library staff. If an item is returned, a credit of $75.00 will be given. The balance of $50.00 is due in order to clear a patron’s record.
  • If an item is returned, then all fines will be removed from the patron’s record.
  • When fines amount to $10 or more on a patron’s record, all borrowing privileges will be suspended until the fine amount is brought to below the $10 threshold.

Academic Records Hold

Library obligations will result in a hold being placed on a student’s record in the Registrar’s Office. A week after graduation, letters will be sent to those still owing fines. Transcripts can be held until materials are returned or fines are paid in full.

Book Returns

If you cannot make it to campus during library hours, you can return your materials after hours in our book return. It is a blue box in the Maddison lobby right next to the table right under the tv.
