Open Educational Resources (OER) are education materials that are shared at no cost with legal permissions for the public to freely use, share, and build upon the content. OER must be available/free to the public, they must be openly licensed so that others may perform the 5R's. OER can be any type of teaching, learning or research material such as:

OER materials not only need to be available to the public at no cost but they also need to be licensed in a way that the 5R's are allowed to be used. The 5R's are different ways a resource can be shaped/mold/use/modify so that anyone can create an effective learning tool. Check out the 5R's and what they are below:
